CASE FOR SUPPORT

Our Programs

Still Waters is a faith-based home for women and their children located in Bainbridge, Georgia. Still Waters offers free services to displaced women in vulnerable situations. We accomplish this through providing a safe, loving environment that offers a strategic plan for the women to grow spiritually, emotionally and financially. Still Waters has been giving its women and their children in Southwest Georgia a positive, safe space to grow and attain essential life and job skills training since 2013.

Friendship House of Jesus is a year round, non-denominational, after-school and summer program with branch locations in Bainbridge and Donalsonville, Georgia. Friendship House offers free services to children in low-income families to help offset the negative influence of poverty in their lives. We accomplish this through a combination of academic and spiritual support, physical and arts education, and practical life and job-skills training. Friendship House of Jesus has been giving thousands of children and youth a strong spiritual foundation and has been providing positive life skills in a safe and loving environment since 1991.

The Refinery is a social enterprise that was established to help sustain the mission of Still Waters Shelter. Residents of Still Waters produce hand poured soy candles and operate a retail/wholesale business as part of a job skills training program. The Refinery has been creating quality products from regional and recycled resources, to invest in the potential of its women and to be an ever present light in our community since 2013.

A Unique Ministry

In 1991, founder, Jane Lesuer, ventured off the comfortable path and into her local community with a "Bible and a blanket" for weekend Bible studies with around 20 youth. Today, Friends Ministries has expanded into a year round after-school and summer program for at-risk children and youth, a housing program for displaced women and a social enterprise that creates jobs and tax revenue for participating communities.

Jane Forsyth Lesuer shares how she started with simply feeling led to share God's Word.
